You know the people who you’ve followed on social media for so long that it seems like you actually know them? You see as their lives change and grow and all the while you forget that you’ve only known this person through the graces of social media.

This family is one of those.

I’ve followed Mikaela on various internet platforms for quite some time because we have mutual friends back in my home town. I reached out and asked if I could photograph her family while I was back home in Ohio. She and her wife, Amber, agreed and on a gloomy weekend morning I was finally able to meet and photograph her and her family!

While families aren’t something I photograph often, the intimacy and familiarity captured within this gallery makes it one of my favorites.

I’m a Colorado elopement photographer who spends most of her time helping couples ditch the stress of traditional weddings and get married somewhere wildly beautiful instead. Most of my days are spent exploring places around Crested Butte, Denver, and the San Juans looking for beautiful ceremony spots and chasing good light.
