While home in Ohio, I reached out and got to photograph so many people who are near and dear to my heart. This is Laura and her partner Kevin. Laura and I have been friends since high school, we went to the same university, and she was the one who always got sucked into posing for me in my photography courses. We even studied abroad in Paris together! Most recently we attended a mutual friends wedding where I cried hysterically in her backseat. She’s that friend, the one that I see once a year and it feels like I never even left.

A little over a year ago, she met Kevin. They were friends before they started dating, and if your partner is not your best friend, what are you even doing??

We all met up on a sunny clear day at Inniswoods Metro Gardens, a beautifully curated nature preserve located on the north-east side of Columbus. It provided a backdrop as unique as these two.
