Sunrise Wedding In The Colorado Desert

The most incredible time to elope on the western slope and in the Colorado desert, is during sunrise.

While the temperatures are typically in the high 90’s to 100’s with full sun, sunrise is just something to behold in the summer. It’s this perfect part of the morning where the sun is still tucked behind the book cliffs, you can spot the moon anywhere in the sky, and the area is still and private.

It made the perfect backdrop for these two to get dressed under the moon, say their vows with their family, have their children sign as witnesses on their marriage license, and eat cake at 6 am. Heck yes, cake at 6 am.

Hi, I'm Kimberly 👋

Colorado elopement photographer, snack enthusiast, and your personal hype woman for ditching the traditional wedding entirely.

I spend most of my time wandering dirt roads around Crested Butte, the San Juans, and Denver finding the kind of spots that make you forget what stress even feels like. You know — the ones with the views that hit different at sunrise, where the wildflowers are doing too much, and the only witnesses are a couple of marmots and your dog in a tiny bandana.

If you're dreaming of vows somewhere wildly beautiful with zero seating charts involved, hi. That's literally what I do. You bring the love story. I'll bring the camera, the location ideas, and enough snacks to get us through golden hour.
