Summer weddings in Ouray, Colorado are so gosh dang magical. You really can’t go wrong with this place as the backdrop to your wedding or elopement! These two came in all the way from Chicago, rented the cutest Airbnb in Ridgway (complete with photogenic vans out front), and explored the area a few days before our time together so that they could find spots that meant something to them and their story.

They said their vows as a fox ran by, drove along the cliffy Million Dollar Highway, popped some champagne next to a waterfall, signed their marriage license on a rock wall, ran around lakes, facetimed families from the infamous “Switzerland of America” sign, and so much more!

I’m a Colorado elopement photographer who spends most of her time helping couples ditch the stress of traditional weddings and get married somewhere wildly beautiful instead. Most of my days are spent exploring places around Crested Butte, Denver, and the San Juans looking for beautiful ceremony spots and chasing good light.

If your wedding day includes dirt roads, wildflowers, sunrise lakes, or your dog in a tiny bandana, we’re probably going to get along great. You bring the vows — I’ll bring the camera, the location ideas, and an unreasonable amount of snacks.
